As an assignment for Design Theory & Criticism, ARS405, I was tasked to create magazine spreads to accomodate the text of Leslie Savan's essay, "This typeface is changing your life" originally published in the Village Voice in 1976. Focusing on the typeface Helvetica, the magazine spreads I designed were intended to emulate the formulaic quality of Bauhaus design principles of the mid 20th century. Inspiration was drawn from Ulm magazine, and the book "Raster Systeme," by Joseph Muller-Brockman.
